About Eat.Play.Live
An attempt to Make Sense of the Overwhelming Amount of Wellness Information

In recent years, many of us have come to realize that we need to take care of ourselves proactively – before a personal health crisis demands it. Whether you’re hoping to boost your energy, sleep better, manage stress, or simply feel more in control of your well-being, there’s no shortage of advice out there. In fact, there’s too much of it.
The modern wellness space is overflowing with information – some of it helpful, much of it conflicting, and too much of it either outdated or misleading. The main aim of the EPL website is to serve as a filter, simplifying complex health topics, clearing up confusion (especially around nutrition), and calling out questionable, unverified, or outdated advice when needed.
You can expect concise, user-friendly content across the site, with deeper dives available in blog posts. This project is – and always will be – a work in progress. New information will be added, and older content updated, as the science and conversation around health continues to evolve.
With a background in Ecology and Holistic Health and Nutrition, I see wellness as something deeply connected to our natural world, our social lives, and our inner sense of balance. True well-being isn’t just about diet (nutrition) and exercise – it’s about how we live, how we think, and how we relate to the world around us.
Because I cannot claim expertise in every area of wellness, the core of this website focuses on three interconnected themes:
- Eat – Nutrition that nourishes, not confuses
- Play – Movement that energizes and supports health
- Live – Lifestyle choices that bring balance and resilience
From gut health to grounding, from meal timing to mental clarity – this site explores practical ideas and science-based habits you can realistically weave into your life.
My Promise to You
The goal of Eat. Play. Live. is simple: to inform and motivate you to achieve a greater sense of health and vitality – naturally, realistically, and sustainably.
You won’t find extreme diets, harsh detoxes, or “magic bullet” fixes here. Instead, I advocate for gradual, mindful changes – steps that support your body, mind, and spirit over the long term. Whether that means adjusting your eating habits, moving more often, or rethinking how your home and work environments affect your health, every small shift counts.
This journey may require patience, and a bit of willpower – but it’s absolutely possible. You don’t need gimmicks, shortcuts, or a cabinet full of supplements to feel better. What you do need is good information, a holistic mindset, and a willingness to grow.
I hope this site helps you on that path…
The Website
Building a website is something I have never done before. It has been a steep learning curve so far, and I am learning new tricks every day. EPL consists of a Home Page which provides a brief introduction and overview of the underlying cause of almost all health problems, i.e. chronic inflammation, three main Pages: Nutrition (Eat), Fitness/Exercise (Play) and Lifestyle (Live) and a Blog section where more detailed articles can be found covering wide-ranging topics which are all relevant to Health/Wellness.

The name Eat. Play. Live. (EPL) was inspired by the widely recognized 2010 American biographical film Eat Pray Love, starring Julia Roberts, which was based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s 2006 memoir of the same name.
The book recounts Gilbert’s bold and deeply personal journey of healing and self-discovery following a painful divorce, depression, and a sense of lost identity. She left behind her job, her belongings, and her familiar life to travel the world for a year—seeking pleasure in Italy (Eat), spiritual connection in India (Pray), and emotional balance in Bali (Love).
Eat Pray Love resonates with anyone who’s ever felt the pull of profound change. It’s a story of reclaiming joy, meaning, and self-direction—one step at a time.
Although the subject matter of this website differs from Gilbert’s memoir, Eat. Play. Live. embraces a similar spirit of self-empowerment. Here, the focus is on using nutrition (Eat), movement and vitality (Play), and lifestyle choices (Live) to guide your own wellness journey. It’s not about a physical trip around the globe—but rather an inner journey toward health, balance, and lasting well-being.
